Computer controlled team has illegal number of players on roster, won't let me continue

I am unable to sim forward because "Houston has an illegal number of players on the active roster (8)". Houston is a computer controlled team, so I cannot complete transactions for them.

Any idea how to fix this? (other than temporarily control Houston's team and make the necessary transactions?)

btw, I just upgraded to the latest Mac OOTP9 version....

Also - I just noticed that all/most of the computer controlled teams are short on the 25 needed to begin Spring Training.
