DATABASE::load_database - could not load options file
This morning I receive the subject error when trying to load my league. As a test I created a new league, quit OOTP9, and reloaded the new test league. That worked without problems. So, I guess that some kind of options file for my league has been corrupted, or it's a wacky Vista permissions issue.
Update: After I loaded the test league. I tried re-loading my original league. It got further this time and failed on "could not load weather file". And now it tells me: "The loading of the database failed. It is either corrupt or a save-game from an old version." It isn't the latter. Is there anything I can do? I'm using Vista 64-bit, by the way. |

It sounds as though your files may be corrupted, yes. In your .lg saved game folder, how large is the weather.dat file?

The weather.dat file was 1k. I deleted it, hoping it would be remade and work okay, and then tried to reload the league. It then told me it couldn't open the manager file, then another file, and another file. Each file that couldn't be opened was only 1k in size.
At that point I figured my league was corrupted, and started over. It's not a big deal, I just hope it doesn't happen when I get further into a new league. I'm not sure why it happened, as OOTP9 never crashed and always exited smoothly. You can probably close this thread since I have moved on. Thanks |
