All-Star games after the season is done?

If I manually schedule my all-star game to happen in the off season, will it work? I was wondering if I could have a pro-bowl kind of deal where the best full season of work gets you selected. The league I'm setting up uses a short schedule and I dont feel right having an all-star break in the middle of it.

Hey if you get this to work let me know how you did it. I have failed at getting a good time for the all star game to happen. I would like it to happen at the end of the season but can not get it to work right. The one thing to watch out for is if you wait till the end of the season there could older stars left out because they retire. My suggestion would be to make it the day after the playoffs so you can still have your soon to be retired ppl in the game.

I've never tried this, but could you schedule it for between the end of the season and the start of the playoffs? You could designate the players (or maybe only the pitchers?) from playoff teams as being honorary selections, giving them a chance to rest up and set their playoff rotations. The managers of the best regular season teams could be named coaches
