Thanks, Markus!

This game just keeps getting better largely because you guys keep listening to your fans!

"Thanks" if not enough, but it will have to do for now!

And enjoy your vacation, Markus ... and try not to think of baseball too much!

Goddamn, that is annoying. Not sure what change from OOTP4 to OOTP5 has created this problem. Was able to sim 19th century baseball with no worries with OOTP4 and now this bug ruins the experience in OOTP5. It's the main reason I have played the new game very infrequently.
Just a thought here Darkhorse, but do you think it's only the year that is the problem? Might something be wrong with the info on the players in the Lahman 5.0 database? It did change a lot from the 4.5 version.

Would it be possible to do a test where you edit all the dates for the 1871 players in the Lahman database into another year, say 1971, and then try importing them in a 1971 league to see if you still have players disappearing?

Just thinking out loud here...

The players that are affected change each time that an 1871 league is created and the bug seems to concentrate on pitchers though I have seen position players vanish as well. So, this would seem to preclude it being a Lahman problem else why wouldn't it affect all eras and why would the players involved change as well?

In reply to someone in this thread: the "Brilliant Doubles" for rookie catchers is still there; you'll need to edit them. Glad we can create rooks for the draft again, though.

I tried downloading the patch 3 times, but it says "file corrupted" when I try and unzip it or open it. Did this happen to anyone else?

Editing stadiums in Manager mode?

I am still unable to update the current stadiums in Manager Mode. I can only change the team that I control. Please, please, please add this to a future update.

Range ratings falling?

Maybe this is just bad luck, but I am noting that about half my position players are losing a grade to thier range ratings. Also quite a few players (most under 30) have lost a half star to a star a year, every year. Again maybe just bad luck, but I'm wondering if anyone else is noticing the same thing.

Same here. At the start of a my next season, I installed 5.1, then noticed several players dropped 1 - 1.5 stars.

Is it just me, or did 5.1 finally address the bug where historical players, in their first season, would have their real-life stats for that year displayed as their stats for the previous season?

If so, rock on.
