Can 7-day lineup set pitcher only?

If I use the 7-day lineups to insert starting pitchers for those games, and leave the rest of the lineups for those days blank (that is, just insert a starting pitcher into the 9th slot in my batting order, and leave the other slots empty), will the computer use the lineups I've designated on my main "Lineups" screen to fill in the other eight spots?

yup it sure will. I did this by accident when i forgot to reset my 7 day lineup one week. the pitching rotation got all out of whack (something goofy with the rotation and 7 day lineups) but my lineup/depth charts were used.

If you happen to leave a position empty, or an injury/suspension takes place, the game will go to your lineups and depth charts.
