Cubby, have you come across this?
Anaheim Angels all the way: MLEs, 2008 hitters Unfortunately its just AAA, AA and A+ but the MLEs are nice for current ratings |

Also all the players ARE getting re-rated for the first release, but it's kind of a mish-mash of different projection systems between CAIRO/MARCEL/Bill James (yuck)/ZiPS. Once ZiPS releases all of their teams, we'll re-rate with those as they have come across as the most accurate to me so far.
Just a heads up for the first release. Nothing is outrageous though as far as projections go. Also have gone through and added velocities/pitches from fangraphs. |

Never giving up.
Jason Denham is in the roster, BUT Dan Denham i LA Angels minors are missing. He did start some 25 games for Arkansas Double-A..... |

Quick update, things are going pretty smoothly. Finishing up ratings for MLBers, have about eight teams left to rate. After that, it'll be to the task of combining the MLB & MiLB sets, and putting in contracts and we should be good to go!
Still think this weekend is looking good for first release. |

That rerate is perhaps the solution to my issue about huge amount of players getting dropped from Single-A to Short-A and Rookie-League at the start of the season.
Looking at the Minor League Report (from the transaction view for each team) one can see most of these players "Overmatched for Single-A or Not Ready for Single-A) So Single-A players need to get a small upgrade in most cases... Hmm Look at Portland Beavers players Ken Sullivan and Jorge Ramirez. IMHO they donīt exist, or have I missed them. Delete them please.... |

I agree. A re-rate of Single-A is most definately needed. Unfortunately, you guys will have to hang in there though as it won't be included in the first release. Second release's top priority will be including minor league managers and re-rating Single-A players though.

The first release is post to be the weekend....(CROSSES FINGERS). How long will it take to re-rate the minors for the second release? Will you be added guys to teams as they sign in real life, like Jeremy Affdelt signing with San Francisco? Just kinda curious on when the second one would come out with re-rated single a because I am in the process of building my own page for the league. As it will take me lil time and was curious if I would be on pace for the second release?

Hm. I don't think the second release would take much more time. All of Triple-A and Double-A has been re-rated, it would just be rerating guys in Single-A basically and putting coaches in. As always I'll hold off on a timeframe for the second release for now though.

For later realeses you might think on all those "similar" names guys. I know you did some in the last versions but I have come up with dozens more.
I know you canīt plug all holes, so the rerating of players in lower leagues is a sure must. It seams that mostly pitchers matchup good enough, but field players get dropped into short-a and rookie league at the start of the season. Itīs kind of sad seing them sit out until those leagues starts without getting playing time, while Single-A teams play on with Joe Unknowns. Then when the drafts has been cleared most of those "hang-arounds" will just the same be moved back to Single-A to make room for the rookies. When I did some rearating of my own, I looked into each teams Minor League report and upgraded the players with Overmatched or Not Ready for Single-A just a bit so that the phrase went away. Still not fully done, and now you pop up with a new realese. I invented the wheel again ![]() Hope to see your version soon enough. |

If you can make one post with all of the similar name guys, I'll go through and knock them all out before I release the first one.

I will have to look over that problem again, since I have changed them into individual names as I have worked over the Roster. Itīs a bit work, but I see what I can come up with.
Some has been mentioned in this thread so thatīs a start. Itīs like Luis Martinez x 2, the new younger version with new photo is named Luis M. Martinez in my edited version. Some has even only changed given names. You have used many shorten version of given names so itīs hard to find when I have edited them. Like having 2 Manuel Martinez , I now have one Manny Martinez and one Manuel Martinez. Last edited by clamel; 11-22-2008 at 08:36 AM. |

Duaner Sanchez should be on in the Mets organization on the DL at opening day, he rejoined the team on like the 15 of apr, where he then went on to play 66 games this season.
EDIT: Also I don't know what this is all about but the Mets lower teams in the organization all the staff have contracts that run out in 2007 yet they are still on the team. Last edited by phillosopherp; 11-23-2008 at 03:29 AM. Reason: adding info |

Is their a ballpark idea on when the roster set is gonna come out? In my opinion if you were going to re-rate the single A teams players. I would just hold off on the release for another weeks or so and come out with one sold strong release. Plus it will also give more time for FA in real life to sign with players as right now the only deal has been Jeremy Affdelt to the San Francisco Giants (2 years for 8 Million). Just my thought and I have always used CubbyFan's roster set....has always been the most accurate...kudos for all your work. Sit back and have a beer

Having a beer (or... a few) was why it didn't get out this weekend, don't say that!
![]() Ratings are all done, just have to do salaries. Don't want to put a timetable on it because for some reason things always take longer than I think but all of the hard work is done, just a matter of a few days at the most. |
