Future draft pick trading and draft pick compensation!
Do these two work together?
When a team trades his 1st round draft pick, and also loses a Type A free agent, how does this work out? Or when a team signs a Type A free agent, and trades his 1st round draft pick how does this work? I'm in a online league with draft pick trading enabled, and draft pick compensation disabled. Can we enable them both, and trust the AI in working out the real draft order? Thanks! Last edited by TomasNL; 11-07-2008 at 02:19 PM. |

I would never trust the AI to work out the draft order. My league has pick trading enabled and one thing that drives me nuts as a commish is OOTP's complete lack of tracking draft picks and who they belong to.
If I, as the Red Sox, trade for the Dodgers' first round pick I am then listed as having two draft picks. Fine with me, the game will give me the Dodgers' spot in the draft order. However, if I make another trade before the draft and specify with the other team that I am trading MY pick and not the Dodgers', the game just takes one of the picks without caring which team it originally came from. I always have to double checked all the draft pick trades just in case. If the game can't do that, I'm not trusting it to do anything more complicated. The compensation system is messed up anyways in OOTP. |
