Can it have an effect? Or is it just fluff? So far, its only gotten me tossed.

It gives you the opportunity to vent all the frustration you've ever had on any sports video game on any level when you're hosed by a bad call.
Seriously, I don't think that it really does much. It's more of a neat little detail included in the game. |

Ok cool, thats what I thought. Perhaps we can get a "kick dirt on the umps feet" option in a future release.

If the game is close i will not argue a call so i cna still control my team, If i am gettig creamed i will argue and then i do not care if i get tossed , then the computer can finish my game.

We need the option to return to the dugout in disguise option too.

But the potential for this feature is so much more. Why not make it a strategy call. Maybe you can influence future calls your way or agaisnt you and once in a bluemoon how about a reversal. Players may get tossed instead of manager. There's just a lot you could do with it.

If they ever decide to include sound they should play the itchy and scratchy show song when you are arguing a call.

I'll argue when everything backfires in my face and I start to get frustrated and their is a close call, I figure if it were real I probably would have argued anyway and if I get tossed maybe the computer well make something happen. It's neat when your team rallies when you get tossed.

Granted, I haven't heard of anyone having a call reversed, but I don't think a clear yes or no has been given as to wether arguing affects the outcome of future calls. And, who knows, maybe once in a blue moon a call is reversed. I have played OOTP3/4 for over a year (played out probably 1500 games) and I have never seen a ground-rule double or an inside the parker, but other people have seen them several times. [ 04-23-2002, 01:41 AM: Message edited by: JML ] |
