Weather was a top 3 reason why I moved from Philly to San Diego. The women were the first reason.

With all the moaning that's gone on since last night about all sorts of different facets to the decision to suspend the game, if I was in the same situation in future I'd go by the rule book. At least everyone would know what was going on. It seemed as though the two GMs knew it was nine innings whatever, but why not tell everyone else? It just doesn't make sense.
I can see why they cancelled it tonight so early, because although the winds are still forecast to be pretty breezy tomorrow, they're not forecast to be anywhere near as gusty and the chance of rain has almost gone from near certain last night to a small chance today. |

The trick here is to create a post-season schedule which allows for a World Series which starts on a Wednesday and thus runs over only one weekend but doesn't take as long to play overall as the current schedule. To do this you need to cut not only the four extra days inserted last year, but an additional four days, or a total of eight days. To achieve that travel days would have to be eliminated. |

I don't understand why Fox would want to protect their weekends. They run nothing of note on weekends. They want to make sure they don't have to pre-empt Cops two weeks in a row?
If you said they don't want to burn Tuesdays, I'd understand.

The shortened rule may have had its place in the day when the fields were not as well-maintained, parks not as well-constructed, and when teams travelled by train. But that's not the case today. |

Now this I can agree with. Personally if I was running the MLB I would ahve told Fox where to go and hwo to get there. This isnt' the NHL, people in the states actually want to watch baseball, so the networks should be cowtowing to them, not the other way around.

I agree completely. I just hope that they change what's in the rule book in the off-season so that such confusion, or lack of communication really, doesn't happen again.
