Decreasing Injuries?
Is there any way to decrease the amount of injuries, or the severity of the injuries that occur? I've had 3 players get career ending injuries this year alone!

There are several ways to adjust injuries. The easiest way is to go into the game options were there's a pull-down menu for "injury frequency" and its default setting is "normal" but you can change it to "low" or lower.

I've had the same thing happen to me. It gets pretty ridiculous, and boring, when all you're doing is moving players on and off your DL. So if you change the injury frequency to very low, you'll still get a few (3 or 4) injuries per year, most of which are in the month-to-3-month range. so your team still has to be deep, yet the gameplay is more enjoyable.

What they said. I've reset injury frequency to 'very low' and I've gone from counting 'injuries per week' to 'injuries per month'. Unfortunately, my very first injury under the new system was to my best hitter… for ten weeks. *sigh*
Yeah, you still need to maintain depth. His backup is a guy who realistically deserves to be playing High A ball. |

You may want to check out the injuries.txt generator utility found on Padresfan Mods
I used that to adjust the length of injuries, eliminating Career Ending injuries.

koohead, is your utility designed to be used with any injury frequency? I had somehow given myself the impression that it was balanced for the 'above average' freguency.

Not my utility so I don't know. If I recall correctly, the utility came out when we were upset about the length of injuries and the number of SEI and CEI's that the game was generating. This utility allowed the individual player to tweak lengths and even eliminate SEIs and CEIs all together if they wanted to. "Severe" injuries could be set to have lengths up to however many days you wanted...I think I have mine set to a max of 300 days.
I'll have to look tonight but I think you can also set frequency of injury levels but I'm not sure.

Since those things are adjustable it should be good for any injury frequency. Thanks for explaining.
