Depth charts problem
I set my depth charts for spring training. I set it to start the 1-2 subs every 3-4 games but the AI ended up using my regular starters in every game. I didn't want all my players getting so tired and injured..

The game doesn't handle ST all that well IMHO. The fact that it is only a 40-man roster and call ups/downs seem to not be free flowing makes me steer clear of ST in game. Just my personal experience with 9.

Apparently any platooning that you try to do (or your manager does for you) doesn't work in ST, at least from what I can tell. However, I stumbled upon a work around for that. If you use the new feature in Player Strategy, to designate a player who is ordinarily a sub as a starter in any position, and then ask the manager to set lineups and depth charts, any platooning that the manager creates appears to work then. I have no idea why. I haven't given it a scientific test, just observing what happened in a recent series of ST games.

I'd love to see ST overhauled in the next version. I personally would like to start ST earlier and run through a bunch more players. There aren't enough games currently to adequately evaluate everyone.
I also don't like that ST counts for one of the "ups" for minor leaguers - meaning you use an option when you send the guy down. That's not the way it happens in real life, is it? |
