Losing of Draft picks through FA
I was wondering when do I lose or gain draft picks? When doing FA.... reason I ask is when a team signed Magglio Ordonez (who I had on my team) I gained a draft pick but when I picked up a player like Carl Crawford I lost a pick... however I didnt lose a pick for every FA I picked up.... so is there a way for me to know ahead of time when Im going to lose a pick or gain a pick?

What happens then if I try to sign two Type A or Type B players then and only have one 1st round pick? Will I not be allowed to get two Type A players?

Pretty sure you only lose the pick for the first FA you sign. So the most you can lose is 2 picks, a 1st rounder for a Type A and a 2nd rounder for a Type B, no matter how many players you sign.

For any year, you can click on History -> the league link for a year (i.e. AL, NL) and then you'll be on the Stats Leaders screen and scroll down for the top 5 in a lot of stats including BA, ERA, Saves, for that league. If you glance at the two pages for AL and NL (provided you're running a regular MLB setup), you'll be set.

So through the league links I can see that the best HR hitter in the AL in 2027 was Billy Fox with 64... through leaderboards I can see the best HR season was 65 in 2015 by Jesus Orozco. Billy Fox's 64 was tied for 2nd all time for a season. Derek Bishop hit 65 in 2042 and Tony May hit 64 in 2032. I can then see that Billy Fox hit 676 HRs in his career, 3rd place all time having played from 2026 to 2041. And it's currently July 20, 2056.
