update

As I have currently modified these leagues:

Rookie League:
Team Names belonging to real MLB. (Some are rookie league and some or short a teams in real life. Since I dont have a Short A League its fine.)
Correct city, weather, logo, banner colors. As I didnt modify uniforms since only MLB will have pictures so there was no need. Also the ballparks where made to realistic but not real. So the teams ballparks are fake in the rookie leagues.

High School Feeder League
6 Division of 5 teams each so 30 High School Teams in the league. All on one side so there would be an automatic generate schedule for this league only. Everything is completely fake from city, nicknames, logo, ballpark (normal size), weather for where ever the high school is located. Think that covers that one

NCAA Feeder League
Next Part of my project...Plan on 84 teams in case I want to expand league to 32 teams. So there will be enough players in the draft for 20 rounds for all 32 to team (Currently - 30). Should have enough players for 22 round though. So will be a couple left overs. This one will take more work since there are more teams but tryin to figure out what divisions to take as I already figured the big 5 divisions. More then like all teams will be in one sub-league, so everyone could play everyone.

Division so far our: Pac 10, Big 10, Big 12, SEC, ACC. Tryin to debate on what other division since that is already 54 for teams which leaves me with 30 teams available. Yes I know Big East or C-USA is not on there yet but still working on it.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Day One Mets thats fine long as you are eager and your active. What GM need to do in online leagues but for selecting teams.

I used CBL Cardinals roster and modified. I am still tryin to decide on what to do to make it fair for everyone. As first person normally would get their team. As I kinda want to do something to produce some intrest as some people only want certains such as rays, yankees, angels. So people that have helped me with mods will get there team for the benefit of helping. As I was debating between rays and giants because they are my two teams. I decided to take SF Giants since they need more work then the rays. I will let everyone know how teams will be chosen. Option I have at moment.

Option One - Was to go down thread and give in order

Option Two - Go to a chatroom with all gms. Write down all teams on a sheet a paper and have the person roll a dice in a chatroom. So say you roll 14 and on the sheet the person will become the GM of the team that was listed at 14. Teams will be listed in random. If the team is taken then you would get the close team to that number. If you had 14 and 14 is taken. And there is an open team at 12 and 16. You will be given the option to go up or down without knowning what team are where. Kinda of like a random lottery.

sign me up

I want in.

I think the Giants are taken, if not, I would like them. If they are I would take the expansion Marlins or Cardinals.

Thanks for doing all of this work.

Yea the giants will be taken by me. This league is 2008 so there would be no expansion marlins or cardinals. Yet they are the real life marlins and cardinals. Just not sure on how about giving teams out if you read my post above

I'm in also

Looks like you've done alot of work on this. Looking forward to seeing it. We chatted before on Aim - I'd prefer the Orioles, and second preference is the Phils.

Cheers,
Matt

This looks very interesting,Syxx, especially with the NCAA feeders. I'm kind of new to the online leagues but am very eager to test my GM skills against actual people. My first choice is the Phillies; if taken then I'll take any National League team available. Here is my email if you have any questions for me:

ESBASS87@aol.com

Thanks.

Please read the update above the college listening. As there is two options on selecting teams. I really believe I am going to go with option two for random team selecting. So please read above. People with no common sense or dont take the time to read will not be in the league. Can not stand stupidity and laziness. If you can read an updated posting then you will not be a good and active gm in a league. Besides that I am working on them and have received the custom schedules for the AAA, AA, A, and RL and just need to import them into the game. Please thank the guy under scheduling mods forum for his hard work to help me get this project underway!

while I get the idea behind the random assignment I also think that one of the things that makes the game great is that you get to pilot your favorite team to see if you can do things differently. I think that maybe we should do the number two option but then maybe also incorporate something like that christmas game that some play. The one where you can steal from someone else and give yours to them. I don't know just throwing that out there.

Its just an idea. I just dont want people fighting over 1 team is why I came up with that second option. As you can see that I have had this thread going for a while now. Basically since I started to modify the file. So alot of people have put the same team as someone else. So If i was to give people the teams you want. Then I know off the top of my head that the Giants and Pirates are gone.

Yeah I totally get it. The first thing that kills leagues is the, but I wanted that team whine. I am just trying to come up with something that isn't totally random cause I think that it takes some of the heat (as in passion) out of the league if you get a team you absolutely can't stand. Like I would quit before I became the Yankees, the Dodgers, Braves or the Red Sox. Just the way it is. And lets not forget that I would automatically want to tank the Phillies, Marlins, and Nationals.

Thats fine....weed out the bad gms. It shouldnt matter who you have. As 1 league I have my giants. Another league I just got the rays. Which are my two favorite teams. However my first team I have had in ootp9 is the Oakland Athletics. So it shouldnt matter who you have! I wouldnt join a league if I had to choose the dodgers, yanks, or red soxs. This would be completely random. You never know....you may get your team or another team you like.

I think a random pick would be the best move. Leagues always fill the top teams then it takes weeks to fill teams like the Nationals and Royals.

I kinda like the random idea thing myself. I also liked someone idea with the Christmas game by being able to take someone else random pick (team). The rule is you can take that pick(team) up to three times. After the third person the team is locked with that person. Mike it quite interesting and it will bring the better gm's for the league. HINT, it takes out the crappy gm's in the league. If I can get 29 gms for teams. I have two so far for the random idea which means I need 27 more gms.

Yeah I said the Christmas game, and I am in for the random deal, though I would like to do it the christmas game with with a limit of two take aways to make it faster. We can all roll one set of dice right at the beginning to set the order in which peeps go.

- Its gonna be done at random.
- There will be 29 teams listed by a number 1-29. (either roll a dice or pick a number through aim)
- I will randomly create the order so know one knows who will be rolling where. So that will be random as well.

If you roll/pick a number then you have that team unless someone already has that team. In which case you can steal the team from him. After three times the team has been stolen from someone then that team become frozen with that gm.

Currently have 3 gms. I am tryin to weed out the weak gms. So only the good and active stay in the league.

I am taking the giants as they are one of the weakest teams. Also wouldnt be fair for me to do the random as I would know where every team is.

you can count me in... i actually really like the idea of random teams!

please email confirmation at brent.trumpower@bnymellon.com

I have had every OOTP game since 6 and have played since 2005. I currently only have one other team that i have had for 9 game seasons.
I am very active on boards as well.
