Cubs 3-1. I actually don't trust Z right now. But Harden and Dempster should be able to handle their business. I know, the Dodgers are better than the season record. Beyond Manny, though, I'm not scared of that lineup. The Cubs have eight guys, all of whom can keep an inning going (nine if Marquis or Zambrano are in the game).

I think the Dodgers are going to win 3-2. I think the Dodgers' pitching will be able to hold down the Cubs' NL best offense enough to win three. I think Ethier is going to have a great series when the Cubs try too hard to dance around Manny.

Same here. Dodgers are much more dangerous than their record.

On paper, the Cubs look stronger.

Isn't Dodger stadium a pitcher's ballpark? Isn't that part of the reason the Dodgers have a 3.01 ERA @ home? Their ERA spikes to 4.38 on the road.

Cubs OPS vs. Dodgers OPS shows a pretty significant difference too, doesn't it?

Cubs OPS @ home: .839
LA OPS @ home .731

Cubs OPS away: .758
LA OPS away: .732

Cubs have a stronger lineup too. But this is baseball and these are the Cubs...anything can happen, right?

Runs scored...Total - Cubs 855, LA 700

Cubs @ home: 454
LA @ home: 351

Cubs away: 401
LA away: 349

uhh, the Dodgers are barely over 500, how are they dangerous?

Also, screw ESPn for all this "Curse" talk. It best stop after game 1 tonight, or I'm not watching ESPN until after the Series is over.

It's clear that people who spot off about "the Curse," also buy into voodoo, witchcraft, 9/11 conspiracies, Nostradamus and other unproven mysteries in life...

EDIT: Back on topic.. go Cubs! The Dodgers are not dangerous; let their runs scored/allowed do the explaining. However, this being the playoffs, anything can happen.

With all due respect, isn't there a major highway nearby you can go play in?

Sure, 75 is right down the street but being able to hear a pin drop in the landfill is far more entertaining

Yes, the run differential favors the Cubs. But to say the Dodgers aren't dangerous is ridiculous. The Dodgers spent most of the season without Furcal and with Kent playing poor defense at second, Andruw Jones and Juan Pierre starting games in the outfield, and Ethier getting benched.

P.S. Manny Ramirez.

In a short series, the Dodgers don't need to rely on Kershaw (still young and iffy) or Maddux. They didn't take their bad relievers like Proctor and they aren't starting Kent, Pierre, or Jones.

Run differential is a piece of the puzzle. It isn't the whole puzzle.

Cubs being the cubs in the top of the second. It's only a matter of time until zamNoBraino explodes.

Cubs need to get their head out of their arse and play like a team that won 97 games and is playing a team that only won 84.

Gibson swings, and a fly ball to deep right field! This is gonna be a home run! Unbelievable! A home run for Gibson! And the Dodgers have won the game, 5 to 4; I don't believe what I just saw! I don't believe what I just saw!

The Cubs are playing Cubs playoff baseball and the Dodgers are a lot better than that 84 win team during the regular season.
