Okay Serious problem with coaches
I am having a problem hiring coaches for the lower levels at lower level prices. What is the deal here. I am offering guys with mediocre abilities for low low level positions and they still want like 30k (in 1962 with everything set to 1962 financial levels) I offer them a higher then level contract i.e 15k (at Rookie ball where the guy above them is making 15,500) and they turn it down. I have had this happen now with 18 coaches. WTF. Please someone tell me that I am doing something wrong and that it is an easy fix. This is starting to make me want to throw my monitor. Please assist me with how to do this.

The only way I've successfully signed lower minor league coaches and managers is to seek out lower rated, less skilled, candidates. They will at least default to reasonable initial demands. Currently, I don't perceive any effect on demands when changing the level of job opening being offered.

When I have to sign coaches for the minors I tinker around 3 or 4 times, and then finally sort it backwards (worst ability in whatever category first) and start at the top. Signing coaches, as far as I have been able to tell so far in 9, is still ridiculously annoying.

How many years experience do they have? If they have low abilities but a lot of experience then that could be a reason they won't sign.

How did you put the AI in control of your minors? Did you go under manager options and select minor league managers under all the minor league stuff?

Yeah I have Minor League Promotions/ Demotions and Minor League Lineups/Depth and Pitching are all selected as Minor League Managers.... reason I did it is I cant remember who but someone told me to just start simple and figured this wouldnt be a big deal... but if in the long run it hurts my team I dont want that to happen LOL... So now Im curious if I basically dont have managers since I havent actually hired one for my minors...

Starting simple would mean (to me) starting without minors and playing a season to find out the ins and outs of the game. Then start over with limited minors (maybe two levels, or only one if you find the increase in bookkeeping excessive).
You will have to hire minor managers on your own; the game will not do it for you. You can find out whether you're missing managers/coaches/doctors/scouts on any particular minor affiliate by going to your 'Front Office' 'Personnel' page, then selecting teams from the popup 'Other Teams of Organization' in the lower right corner of the screen. {If anyone finds an error in this explanation, feel free to correct me.} |

. Umm as far as how you put the AI in control of your minors, you still have to hire managers and coaches even if you have the AI in control. I do it the same way all the time. I don't ever manage my minors so I put my managers in charge.

zero to one year and they are still asking for triple the league ave. This is the only feature in the game where I honestly feel like it is broken and could stop me from playing. It sucks to because it has so much going for it. I guess I will turn off coaches but that sucks too cause I like the idea. I don't know this is really upsetting me, and I am not the type to usually bit** about a game. The issue is that everything else is done so well that this aspect completely falling on its a** is really making me mad. Oh well
