More "diamonds in the rough"

I notice that all the top players in my game are in the top 1-3 rounds, is there anyway to change this so more players from round 6-10 on become good players?

Thanks, sorry if the title was misleading, I could not give a name

You can change the frequency of talent changes to do this. Under Game Setup, Player and Picture Options tab. It is on the left side.

yep I found that but to me it means that players current abilities change, not their "potential rating"

this is the first time with the game and Football Manger and Eastside Hockey Manager must use a different system

Can anyone verify/correct the first point please?

Small sample size warning!

I have had one universe so far and played 12 seasons. A reliever I drafted in my first draft (June 2009) made the majors after being selected in the 30th and final round of the draft (Pick 6, 876 overall).

He was 21 at the time and made the majors at 28. He is now 33 and has a lifetime Major League record of 35-14 with 22 saves and a 3.83 ERA in 454 innings.

Great Steal! I love when those kind of picks work out the right direction even if they have to be nursed in the minors tell a little "past their prime".

Thanks . . . pretty much dumb luck. His Stuff/Movement/Control potential was 5-4-7 (20-point scale) Jan. 2010, just another pretty much random pick and I had no idea what I was doing (first game, first draft, never read a word of the manual). I even released my second-round pick by mistake.

His progress
2009: Drafted 876th, not even good enough to make the computer-generated depth chart and pitched 1 inning in the GCL (in which he gave up two runs).
2010: 5/4/7 potential; 5.87 ERA at Short-season A
2011: 6/8/9; 0.98 ERA at Short-A, but only 27 innings.
2012: 10/13/12! 2.60 ERA, 18 saves at Hi-A

Had ratings of 9-10/12-14/14 from there on out, became 4-4.5 ERA type at 2A/3A until 2015 when he was 1.64 in 49 IP at 3A and got a cup of coffee before becoming a Major League fixture at the back end of the bullpen.
