"Generate Schedule" issues
There are few issues noted below, but I'm posting here in hopes that someone here might have a work around for the "New schedule may only be generated in pre season" pop up.
Explanation: I get a pop up saying I can only generate a schedule in the pre-season, but it is the pre-season right now. I'm trying to set my short season rookie league to start play after the June draft. Setting the game setup start date as July 1st appears to be ignored by the game, hence my attempt at generating a new schedule:-). I have found a note from my OOTP 2007 testing days that schedules can only be generated on February 2nd. That was for OOTP 2007 though, and that game actually noted the date (February 2) when pre-season started - that does not appear to be the case in OOTP9 (hrm). Any thoughts/ideas on this predicament would be much appreciated .Related game issues Issue 1: Changing the game setup start date appears to be ignored by the game. Issue 2: It looks like schedules can only be generated on 1 day of the season - February 2nd (the start or OOTP 'pre-season mode' in OOTP 2007, I'm assuming that is still built into the game for OOTP9). Does anyone know if that is accurate? If it is then that is pretty wacky, and it either needs to be changed or the pop up message needs to be changed to allow the user to successfully edit/generate a new schedule. Issue 3: The game says you cannot clear/delete a schedule until pre-season, but it actually will clear the schedule for you in spite of that failure message . That means if you are unable to get around issue #2 then your league will have no games schedule for the current season.

I have found that the pre-season date for one level in a game is not necessarily the same for all levels.
When I run into this I make whatever schedule adjustments I need for the current level that is in pre-season mode and then move forward a day at a time until I hit the next pre-season date. The only way to find the next pre-season date is to try the schedule adjustment. When it works you have found it. |

Follow up on my issue in case anyone is searching for this situation (and also good news for the game) : My selected start date and schedule was automatically generated by the game in spite of my failure to manually generate it.
The problem was that the league start date change had been added in the previous off season, and then ignored during that season. I am near certain that I must have changed that start date too late in the previous off season for it to be applied to that season, but the game did finally adjust it this season and the start date setting was not ignored !
