How to control All-star starters?

The owners in my online league voted for All-stars, and I applied the results by manually selecting their choices for the teams, but then the game chose the starters by itself.

Is there some way to choose which players actually start on the All-star teams, without managing the game?

What I do is set both teams to human and start the game as if I am going to manage. I then change the starting lineups to what I want and then simulate the game from there.
