SSBL Heading Towards 25th Season
The Stars & Stripes Basebal League (SSBL), a fictional league based in real ML cities, is nearing it's 25th season of existance, and we are currently looking for at least one serious owner to take over an ailing team. We are currently in Spring Training and heading towards opening day of 2026 (which should be Tuesday, August 19th).
We made the move to OOTP 9 before this season and are enjoying the newest version of our addiction. I am working on updating the rules page, but most everything is in place for the new season. We have a wealth of experience in the league, dating back to the High Heat days, and quite a few of our current owners are/were commissioners in both HH and OOTP. At this time, the Boston Red Sox are in need of someone with a bit of dedication and baseball know-how to help lead the team to a brighter future. The most recent owner made some moves and seemingly started the team in the right direction, but was unable to continue do to unexpected life changes. This team has the 2nd best farm system in the league, and in time should see these young player help team out in one way or another. The ML squad doesn't have a ton of talent, but there are some players here and there that do a very good job. A couple of trades or a FA signing here and there may move the team further down the road to contention. Please be aware that this is a team in desperate need of some TLC and attention. Previous owners who have not taken care of the team with roster submissions (injuries, promotions/demotions, extentions, etc.) really put the team in a bind in the past. The Red Sox definitely won't be turned around overnight...it will take some time to put together all the pieces, but I know there is someone out there looking for a challenge with the right stuff to do the job. There is also the possibility that the Texas Rangers may become available soon. The Rangers are one of the storied franchises in SSBL history, making it to the post-season in 17 or our first 23 seasons, and winning 5 World Series titles as well. They still have the talent level to compete, but a lack of movement during the off-season has the current owner in the hot seat. The team may be opened up to new ownership by opening day of 2026. The league is always looking to add potential owners to our waiting list, so even if these teams aren't your cup o' coffee, feel free to fill out the application on the site. |

Boston has been taken, but the Rangers are now officially open. The team has a solid pitching staff, and their offense has a couple of top-notch hitters as well. The farm system is negligable as previous trades to keep the team in contention have taken their toll, but there's enough talent here to either make a run quickly, or trade away the stars and rebuild. Please visit the league site if you're interested. Thanks.
