Stopping auto-play for any team's injury
When I auto-play my online league, I want the auto-play to stop on major injuries suffered by any team, not just my own team. How can I do this?

I'm not sure if you can. I just go back through and read the league news as it does a good job of reporting the big injuries in the league.

That's what I've been doing—simming one day at a time and then checking the injury report log.
In a sixteen-team league, I'm getting about one injury per in-game week that needs me to react. |

A. No, you can't. It only stops you on the team you control (assuming you have the box checked in your GM profile).
B. If it's an online league, why would you want it to stop every day for injuries? That doesn't make sense. The other human GM's need to react to their own injuries. What do you care?

What if a team lost both their catchers to injury during the first game of a ten-day sim? What if a team lost a bunch of pitchers? It would be unrealistic if a team lost some key personnel, and nothing was done about it for a week or more. What wouldn't make sense was if I just ran the sim and ignored significant developments which took place. |

If you're worried about teams not preparing themselves to handle injuries, you could sim for shorter periods. But, basically, that's what the GM is supposed to deal with.

![]() Of course, that's not what I meant. You care about your league, but that doesn't mean you babysit all the GM's. They've got to deal with their own issues.

![]() I am willing to stop my sim every in-game day and check some things and make sure no team is at an unfair disadvantage because of something they have no control over. Yours is a good point. By making moves for teams, I risk doing things that they won't like. I just try to be smart about it, I've got some guidelines that I follow. My main guideline is: treat the team as if it were my own, without letting my own personal style affect my decision. I never bring up a prospect, for example, or do anything that puts a team at risk. My owners know how I handle things, and I follow all their instructions. If an owner were to ask me to keep my hands completely off, I would do so without hesitation. Really, it takes an extreme situation for me to do anything, but those situations do arise. Like I said before, I just want to keep things realistic. If a major league ballclub had no uninjured catchers on its roster, or if it were reduced to having seven healthy pitchers, or it was down to two outfielders, or any number of other combinations of circumstances, it would do something. A team would not wait even a day before it called up a healthy catcher, or re-stocked its pitching staff to being large enough to play games effectively. In the course of a sim, sometimes there are moves that need to be made, and I make them. I'm not going to let a team founder just because I don't trust myself to make the exact same move which that team's owner would make. I'm an experienced Commissioner and I'm confident that I can do the right thing, and I have my owners' trust. |

Unfortunately, you haven't been able to make it stop for you when any team is in trouble since version 6.5.

Right, it won't stop any more, for all teams.
Before I sim, I check every team's disabled list, to see if I need to bring anyone off of it during the sim. Then, while I'm simming, I check the "Injury Log" report every day and make the necessary adjustments. Like I said in my post above, between all sixteen teams, there's about one injury per ten-day sim that requires my intervention. |
