Very questionable AI roster mgmt

During a game in September, I noticed that my opponent had a catcher with no arm rating. I looked on their roster and saw that they have ZERO catchers active (the catcher in this game is a 1B). After the game, I looked closer at their roster. They have only one catcher (who is on the DL...he is day to day for 2-3 weeks 90% effectiveness). They have 2 catchers at AA and 2 catchers at A. I'm surprised that there isn't some sort of minimum requirement per position (seems like this could be done and still leave plenty of room for individual coaches preferences). 2 catchers should be mandatory. And, this being September, a FA or 2 should have been signed and added to the roster just to get by.

do you have financials on? if not, i believe this may be why, as teams do not sign players with financials off - an oversight that has always baffled me.

yes, financials are on...also using sal cap but team is not close to the cap
