Red face how can i do this and can it be done?

i play with an all-time franchise roster for each team. basically the best all time players with their best season. i don't use any player development because i want them to stay at their peak (hate to see players get old).

anyway- some on the roster are current players. what if they have a better season? how can i import their new stats to update them without creating a whole new player and lose their accumulated career stats?

is this possible and anyone else doing trying the same thing?

thanks

Did you download a template with the all-time all-stars or did you make your own rosters when you created the league? If you created the rosters yourself, how did you do it? I have been trying to figure it out (clicking different options in the game, hunting through all the menus and buttons, and reading lots of forum posts), but I am definitely missing something....

Thanks for the help!

import

i go into the lahman database and edit the players and years. i change all their peak years (batting/pitching) to the same year (ex 2000) and delete the rest. i adjust the fielding to their career avg (so that they are able to play at different positions). in the master file i change all their birthdates to the same year so in 2000 they are all 20 years old.

then i import the historical year 2000.

Rather than doing all that editing, why don't you just that import that player for the given year then assign him to the team you want? This sounds to me to be much easier and you don't have to screw around with your database.
