I'm really enjoying ootp. Got an All-Star Universe league set up. I can sit and play historical teams against each other any time I want.

Micro-League baseball on Atari 520ST
Tony LaRussa BB (multiple versions) High Heat BB ( " " ) MVP BB 2005 Baseball Mogul ( " " ) Action PC! BB Others that I can't even remember. OOTP9 = The best baseball game yet. Only problem, as someone else mentioned, it's even more addictive than Empire. I never thought I'd be this tired again. Many thanks to Markus and team. |

Hint: You can love the game and still express issues about it.

Love the strong dedication to this game on the part of both the gamers and the development team.
Also, love the games customization features. It's truly a baseball universe construction set that allows folks to pretty much play the game the way they want. For example, I wanted most of the starting pitchers in my league to go for 9 and the relievers to be somewhat obscure. Happily, OOTP allows me to build that feature into my solo league. I wanted to build another stand alone independent league whereby it's players could jump to the major league... done! Wanted a 112 game schedule where all teams play four game series throughout the season... got it! I can go on and on with the games ability to allow customization, but you get the picture. |

This is the game I always dreamed about when I was a kid. The features are incredible. I never thought I'd like having teams all over the world but when U-suk Kim left the village of Anyang and his spot on the South Korean team and headed to the big city of Fort Worth...it was very touching. I think his top priority in America is to get a nickname.

This is the greates baseball game I have ever played. I can't imagine what it would have been like if this game was around when I was a kid. Heck, I would have probably been a fat kid, as my time spent out doors would have been limeted.
Not to sound like a total sap, but I have to say it------This forum only serves to make a great game 1,000 times better. I don't know about the rest of you, but I tend to experience what I call OOTP slumps. I start a league and I just can't get into it. I decide to play historical and love it, but my true love is fictional so I know it won't last. etc. etc. So, what do I do? I come to this forum and get Ideas. I am now using Skydogs quickstart. It is incredible and it is the first time I have ever had a league with real logos. It rocks. My point---not only is this game great, but so is this community. I love it that so many of you take the time to create things that only make a great game better. Or ideas=such as Mr Church's sim to the 6th and play out the rest. I thank everyone for letting me steal your ideas. |

This game has slowly crept up on my play time with Civ IV: Beyond the Sword and superseded it at this point. OOTP 2009 was my first time with the game and by gosh it certainly won't be the last. The system is intuitive and impressive, and it makes building a dynasty loads of fun.

OOTP 2007, Baseball Mogul and PureSim were the first baseball games I had played since the early 80s with Atari 400 Hardball and Strat-o-Matic and Baseball Challenge board games.
After a brief trial period I uninstalled PS and BM and haven't stopped playing OOTP - running several historical, modern and fictional leagues. It's one of a few games that can still keep me at my keyboard until 3 or 4 in the morning. The level of detail, both real and pseudo-detail, really makes it tough to "shut down" for the night. ![]() Count me in for pre-orders of each new version. I am constantly impressed by Markus and his team - including the testers - for doing such a great job with the game. Finally, thanks as well to all of the modders for their support of the title and to the forum community at large for the chatter and tips and insight that you bring. |

I've been in several online leagues for longer than I've been in any relationship, job, or city. I think that about sums it up.
