Free Agent Issue With v5?

We recently converted from 4 to 5 in the TSTBL (link below). If you look at the possible free agents (http://www.bkick.com/tstbl/web/pagents.html), Memphis has 8 players listed as free agents in 2008. After test-simming the 2007 season and proceeded to 2008, Memphis' team news shows 16 players opted for free agency.

I don't know how many of them are in error, but I do know that Koyie Hill became a free agent in 2008, despite making his major league debut in late 2005, meaning that he has less than 3 years of major league service.

Arbitration is disabled in the league and I am not sure how many players this has affected, but Hill's case proves that there is a problem at some point.

Link to the game generated html pages here.

I can't imagine that it's an issue with my PC or PC configuration, but let me know if you need that info. Thanks in advance for any help.

This is a known issue caused by the roster set that you started your league with. OOTP5 uses a player's Major League experience to determine when players are arbitration eligible etc. Unfortunately, some players edited in the initial roster sets used by many on the board don't have correct experience recorded since this wasn't an editable value.

With arbitration off, these guys all become FA. You'll notice that after the conversion, these players are listed at $350K instead of the minimum $300K that they should be making. If you edit the contracts of these guys by clicking Contract Type twice (toggles it to minor league contract and then back to ML contract), it will correctly give these guys the $300K minimum and will make sure that they don't get released to FA at year's end.

If you search, there are a few threads on this from several weeks ago.

I tried to do a search, but my criteria was probably a little too broad.

Thanks Shane, you're a rock star.
