Sorry guys that this is taking so long, but 'real life' got in the way
I have already fixed all of the reported bugs, and I am currently recoding parts of the AI engine for trading and roster management. Some other new things: - Contract demands based more on stats than on ratings - Same with arbitration - Financial coefficient - Some new reports I will definitely have it released before Tuesday next week (I go on a one-week vacation on that day)! So, stay tuned! |

I thought OOTP5 was real life.
But always take care of what needs to be taken care of. I look forward to the update when it's ready in good time. |

It's good to see that Markus has his priorities straight. In the end, it's still only a game.
Thanks for your hard work and dedication though Markus!

Im excited about everything but the new contract demands based on stats. I'd hate to see this turn into stars that arer performing poorly be in higher demand than ones who are performing very well because their contract will be cheap.

By Markus' statement, would it be safe to "assume" that the disappearing player(s) bug has been vanquished?
Looking forward to the update as well, have been holding off for quite some time for it. Thanks again, not enough can be said about the OOTP team's customer service. It is top notch. |

Just to throw in one more thing. I also have major concerns on how this new stat based contract demands will affect players who play their home games in certain parks.
Does this mean batter playing in Coors will want more money and hitters playing in Comerica will want less money just because of the park they play in? |

Don't get me wrong however, you don't want the AI to give a flash in the pan or one year wonder a huge contract for no reason, but I do like the idea that if a player has a poor season in his free agency year, he shouldnt get superstar money. A nice balance between statistical output from the player (based over the past year and past several years to avoid the one year wonders), mixed in with player potential (younger players who should be expected to contribute more) is good for the contract extentions/negotiations, etc. As it is currently, it is way too one sided, and I am glad it is getting adjusted. |

Technically that is the way that it works though. Rockies hitters that do well have often gone to sign too large of contracts when they leave Colorado (Castilla, Bichette) and the same with some pitchers (Chan ho Park anyone?).
I have been dying for the game to base salaries off of stats. I hate seeing AI teams gobble up those 8-8-8 guys that hit .240 with 15 homers every season. If a player performs well, then he gets money. If not, then he doesn't, simple as that. If you were a ML GM, would you pay $15 mil to a guy that should hit .300/45/120, but regularly hits .250/20/80?
