Unretire for OOTP5
I just made another fast utility to be able to unretire players.
Note that the stats of the player will remain on the retired file when he retired. Steve will post it asap Have fun.

If I have a guy that retired two seasons ago, will this utility 'unretire' him, or does it just unretire the most recently retired players? Also, when the player retires for a second or third time, are the stats in the retired file updated or is another entry created? Thanks for another great utility.

Of course, if your 42 year old star had his ratings reduced to nill before he retired, he's worthless...right?

so when you unretire a player, does that mean that player will never retire again?

No, I believe they will retire again, but you can always unretire them again (ala M.J.).

Rock on! Guigi Quenty was just using his "retirement" to coax a few more dollars out of the Yukon management! Now he's back in a Prospector uniform, ready to get those 12 more wins for 300!
Pierre, you are my hero!

Another plug for the "unretire utility"
In my solo league there was a player named Jared Mckay. He was a poor fielding, power hitting first baseman. Jared, not the "Subway commercial" Jared, but Jared the first Baseman retired at the age of 37. At that time his "getting hits" rating had dropped down to almost non existant. Actually probably a good time to step out. While his hits rating was gone, he still had a "7" for homerun rating. Now, Jared did not nor never did play for my team. He retired in the year 2046 and was pretty much forgotten. Four years later, I was checking out the "career leader board" when I noticed that Jared, who by now would be 41, had finished his career 10 hits shy of 2000 hits and only 9 homeruns behind the career home run leader. Jared had retired with 583 and the leader had 592. And I thought about it. My team was platooning a so-so 1b. Why not give the now 41 year old Jared Mckay a call and see if he would like to come back for a few more cuts. Thanks to Pierre, Jared joined our team in July. I started Jared every game for the first month of his call back. It took two weeks and the now weak hitting Jared had reached his milestone of 2000 hits. And you guessed it, when the season ended Jared had finished with 12 Home runs. He now leads the league in career dingers with 595. He has already made it clear that he won't be back! It would be great to hit 600 wouldn't? Thanks Pierre! |
