BZ 1000: Scout Discovery Gone

I've noticed a couple of oddities when trying to sign hidden int'l players in OOTP9.

1). Occasionally, after my scout finds a hidden player and I offer a contract, he'll sign with another team the very next day instead of me. Even if I offer a major-league contract, he'll sign a minor-league deal with someone else. I suspect hidden players may be getting dropped into the main free agent pool where everyone can see them, which (presumably) shouldn't happen. (This doesn't happen with every player, but I've had it happen with about 4 good prospects over three seasons.)

2) My scout sometimes finds "hidden' players who have actually been signed and playing in the minors for several years. What these guys have in common is that they weren't drafted, meaning presumably the AI found them with int'l scouting of their own, and they somehow weren't "cleared out" of a nation's roster of hidden players.

Still playing the vanilla version, haven't patched yet as I'm waiting for the end of my current season.

I'm not sure why 1 is occurring, but 2 does sound like you've described. This has been noted along with some other weirdness surrounding international hidden players.

I've seen this as well. I posted a thread called "pitcher signed off my team" or something like that. that describes it.

This guy signed a 3 yr extension with me on 8/29/87, during the season, he was my #1 pitcher, signed with another team in my league on 6/8/88.

Of note, #1 is BZ 1000. It's scheduled to be addressed.

I am using patched version 9.1.2, doing a historic league.

I had a scout find a player from Japan. I offered him a contract and he said he would except a minor league contract, so I offered him one. I then went to my managers page and clicked on "View Pending Offers" and the player showed up there as pending. I then clicked on "Finish Day" and the player suddenly disapeared. Gone completely. I checked my shortlist and it showed him now playing for another team with a minor league contract.

Why did it never show up as if he was favoring another offer under "View Pending Offers?" Also, my team discovered him and offered a minor league contract, why was another team able to steal him away with a minor league contract? It can't be he wanted to play for a winner, cause I had just won the World Series.

So I says to myself, "Self....this must be a bug."
