Don't follow games on MLB.com Gameday, huh? ;-)

We have a system that tracks the pitch from the pitcher's hand to the plate, and shows the release point, speed at release, speed when it reaches the plate, movement, angle of movement...

FanGraphs has used the data to create those reports, so I HIGHLY recommend using them. It's much more consistent for player-to-player than a scouting report.

That was handy...I learned something new over at FanGraphs. Thanks!

Although I do have a man-crush on Branyan so I can say he'll probably hit 35 over a full season with new ratings still.

Working to get scouting reports (pitches/pitch speeds) in on MLBers too, does anyone know of any good websites for this information besides FOXSports and Sportsnet.ca?

I do hope you donīt start messing up ratings and stuff among present ML players that have played before 2008. I am a believer that the rosterfile you working on is based first upon importing files from Lahmanns DB, then hopefully perhaps something like PECOTA stats for 2008.
If this is so this new roster from you CubbyFan should be hands off for all those players.
Individual guys playing this game, watching baseball on TV and real life ALWAYS have other views on ratings for the "regular" guys.
I think itīs not the ratings that creates HR rushes for some players but something we should just live with.
If all pre-rating for a year should come up exactly as everyone thought it would less fun.

As I said before works need to done on minor leaguers that donīt have major league stats to permit the game engine to value during an import.
Branyan in this case could be judge in either way. Someone came up with a 2008 stat for him and thatīs the rating. Whatever he then does in this season canīt be counted on until itīs over. Hopefully we donīt get 100% same numbers in a game as it will come out in real life.

Stay on value minor in AAA-AA-A ball and value them according to reports that can be found. Thatīs an ongoing work that can always be disputed, but much better than starting messing with the known players.

There's a lot of issues with the MLB ratings IMO still that need to be fixed. My ratings aren't based on really any personal opinion at all, but pretty much all statistical projections. Basing ratings on one or two seasons can be a problem.

Josh Anderson, Augie Ojeda, Stephen Drew, Chris B. Young are a few that came to mind when re-rating the first few teams.

Appreciate the input though!

Thanks for putting the work in, CubbyFan. Haven't had a chance to take a look at these, yet, but I appreciate the time you put in.

Cubby Fan question

There are two community roster posts started by Cubbfan are both for OOTP9 or is the link in the other post just for OOTP8?

If not, can you tell me where the link is for the latest OOTP9 roster?

TY

Sorry I really need a mod to combine this or close it with the other thread, shouldn't have made two!

You can find the download in the other thread. Sorry if it's confusing!

Will RedSoxFaithful's spreadsheet be available once this project is complete? I'm just not feeling OOTP 9 and I think I'm going back to 6
