CTD when pitcher injured during game

Hi. I've had two games in a row crash to the desktop after the pitcher gets hurt.

I'm still in ST, just the second game of, and the first time it happened in the second inning. All I can say is that the play was a grounder and it reported that the pitcher was hurt and I got the Windows message that the game has encountered an error and had to shut down. I didn't sent a report.

So I restart the game, this time in the fifth inning a reliever was injured and it crashed.

Both injuries affected my player.

I don't know if I can make it happen again, I just have to wait until a pitcher gets injured. The first time, I thought nothing of it. The second I thought I should post it.

This is the info from the game when I click on Help>About

OOTPB9
Version 9.1.2 (Windows)
Serial Number...

System info:
CPU: Intel or AMD, 2 CPUs, 2900mhz
Free disk space: 178,602MB
Physical memory: 2,047MB
Free physical memory: 1,543MB
Virtual memory: 2,047MB
Free virtual memory: 1,392MB

This is after opening it again. Hope that helps, hopefully someone else will experience it, just so that I'm not the only one. If I'm the only one, it's likely to be dismissed as bad luck.

I'll keep playing and will post if it happens again.

CH,

A few questions:

1. Is this a pre-existing league? Or a brand new one created in 9.1.2?

2. Are you sure that you got 9.1.2 after our momentary snafu yesterday?

FYI, you may be alone in this so far in 9.1.2, but this is a bug that we've been trying to squash for 2 years now, and we thought it was finally gone.

So, you're making me cry here.

Sorry Battists, the last thing I wanted to do was make you cry, what with all the hard work you've put in over the last two years.

I'm pretty sure it's 9.1.2, it says it is in the game under help, like I wrote above. I d/l'd it yesterday evening (I think). When was it released? Yesterday was Monday, right?

It's newly created league. I spent several days setting the schedule and ballparks just the way I wanted. I also, for the first time, used the mods to create logos and hats and jerseys for every team.

It's an 18 team league set in the States and I saved it as a quickstart. I had actually played it through about three weeks of ST earlier, but then the new patch came up with a more accurate scouting system. Once I saw how truly terrible my players were, I decided to start over from the quick start and see if I could make some trades.

The other thing I've noticed, though I don't know if it's my imagination, the game seems to load slower than when I first started it. Remember this is after restarting the league with a quickstart, so game logs, transactions, history, are mostly blank. I don't know why it would take longer unless it's corrupt.

Please don't let me quickstart league be corrupt!! Otherwise I may cry.

Well, we had a little snafu yesterday where the official version of 9.1.2 wasn't released until around midnight EST. If you got it before then, I think I'd say our first point of attack should be to have you grab a fresh copy of the game.

Then perhaps you should just keep playing and report back if you get the problem again.

OK, Steve. I've downloaded the executable from Mirror 5. I deleted the old executable instead of renaming it since it may not have been a version I wanted to keep anyways. Extracted the file to the OOTP folder and have opened the game successfully.

I'll keep playing and let you know if it happens again.

Thanks for your help!

Hope this is working. This made me shudder. I remember dealing with this crash over and over again. Haven't seen it in more than a year. Please don't let it sneak back and ambush us again.

Hopefully the executable I downloaded before was incorrect in some way and the one I got last night will work fine.

I was thinking that this issue can be closed. If it happens again, I'll for sure let you guys know.

OK, will do. But please do let us know. As much as we'd hate to open that issue again, we will if it's still out there. Persistent little bugger.
