How is this game?

I just bought the game but have yet to really get into it. I use to be a devout fan of OOTP; I had versions 2-6... How does this compare in other peoples opinions?

Also, there have been plenty of other threads on the same theme - look around, do a search.

My opinion? I remember 6.12/6.5 fondly but there is no comparison to OOTP 9; it really is the best OOTP yet.

As my friendly rival said, OOTP9 is the best version so far. OOTP6.5 was a lot of fun, OOTP '07 wound up being pretty good after the '06 fiasco, but OOTP9 is a very smooth machine that just feels much, well, smoother.
