MAC : Scouting Bug (after 9.0.27 Upgrade)
I've had a lot of problems with my imported league from OOTP 07 which I've documented here. So I decided to install upgrade/patch (exe. version) to see if any were fixed. As I expected, none were, however, a new problem appeared.
After the upgrade I imported the same league from 07 version which I had imported last week. My league had about 300 free agents, mostly undrafted or cut players with very low ratings. I usually delete these at the beginning of the season to keep the clutter down. When I went to the Free Agent page over 150 or half of the free agents had potential ratings of 5 Stars and 20/20/20 (on a scale of 1 - 20) from my scout. (The OSA ratings seemed about right.) I turned scouts off and back on. This had fixed a different problem last week, but had no affect this time. I played on a while to see if new scouting reports would be issued, but no change. I tried signing one of these new wonders and requested a scouting report, still 5 Stars 20/20/20. I then played until the draft pool was released and, guess what, 174 of the 178 players in the pool were rated by my scout as 5 Stars 20/20/20. This of course makes scouting useless. I can play without scouts, but that's not how I like to play the game. If it helps, in the version of the league I had imported before the "27" upgrade, scouting still works fine after the upgrade, including the draft pool which was released after the "27" upgrade. As I said in my last post, I'm done with 09 version until after the next patch and maybe for good. |

I'm sorry that no-one has got back to you yet. I'll bump this thread up and hope that someone with Mac experience spots it.

Did you try simming ahead a day or a week to see if the OVR ratings straightened out?

similar issue
I have encountered a similar problem. I started a new fictional league and with scouting on found that all players in the initial draft were rated one star. Needless to say, I abandoned that league. I've successfully started two or three other fictional leagues since then without that problem.
I've got other persistent problems, but I'll file them elsewhere. (yes, I am a mac user) |

Yes, I simmed ahead several months and the problem did not go away. I even turned scouting off for a while and back on and the problem was still there.
I ended up deleting all of the "overrated" free agents. Then I went back to the league in version 2007 and played until after the draft and then reimported that league into version 9. Since then I haven't had any problems with scouts "overrating" free agents or draft pools. It seems like the problem, for me, affected players created in v. 2007 and imported into v. 9, not with players created in v. 9. Of course Tin of Maize seems to have had a problem with players created in v. 9. |
