BZ 1652: Save as Template/Custom Schedule Makes Game Claim Odd Number of Games
Ok, I've seen this brought up in the following threads, but my case is different so I thought I would post it in hopes it might provide additional info.
http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...le-lockup.html http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...scheduler.html I've been playing fine on a 84 game schedule. I decided to start a brand new league similar to the one I was running. I realigned the league and went to an 88 game schedule. After setting up the whole fictional (not playing historical, not importing from previous versions) universe I went through the initial manager options, hit Start Game and got: It doesn't make a lot of sense. I use my own schedule (which I don't get far enough to import) so here is what I have checked. The league is identical to the one that runs fine with the exception that I went from 4 divisions of 4 teams to 3 divisions of 6 teams. But again the # of games is even. Oh, and I'm on a Mac using the latest patch of 09.

Can you try slightly different numbers of games to see if some other comination might work? Maybe 80? 90?

Yes, only 1 subleague in both cases.
1/4-4-4-4 1/6-6-6

OK, I did a little more experimenting. All of the following are based on loading the template I had saved prior to this problem:
*had error message no matter what # of games I entered *after loading template, I realigned to 2 divisions of 9 teams - had same error But then I decided to create a new league and NOT use the template. 3 divisions of 6 teams seemed to be fine. I had saved the template just prior to saving the first time (not wanting to have to enter everything in down the road), so there appears to be a problem with templates even if technically I didn't use one the first time; just saved it. Unless someone has advice, I am going to wait till tomorrow and create an 18 team / 88 game league, not saving the template before I start the game. I cringe at the thought of entering all this again for naught... but I can report back tomorrow night.

OK, I did a little tooling around and here's what I found:
When I saved my league setup as a template prior to hitting START GAME, I got the dreaded scheduling error/crash. I setup my league with the aforementioned 3 divisions and 88 games, DID NOT save the template and everything was fine. I went back in, setup a dummy league, saved template, and got the error. Any attempt to reload the template resulted in a crash. I'm pretty sure I used to save templates prior to starting leagues with v07 with no problem, but I don't remember. I would think if someone wanted to recreate this it wouldn't be too tough. I'm also not convinced this is the sole problem but I'm guessing it has something to do with templates.

This issue has been claimed fixed for the upcoming patch. If after installing it you still experience this problem, please post a link to this thread in Tech Support along with an explanation of what happened so that we can re-open the report. Thanks!
