World Series Champion fires GM?
I am currently using the updated MLB roster and have just finished the 2010 season:
The Boston Red Sox have easily won the World Series and on the very next day they decide to fire their GM. Kinda strange isn't it? For what it's worth about half the teams in the majors fired their GM that year so I am really wondering what's up with that as this definitely isn't very realistic. My guess is that for some reason AI teams are not extending the contracts of their GMs and so when they expire for the first time in 2010 a ton of GMs show up as fired.... Any ideas on this one? |

That's a known issue of the real roster set... it'll be fixed in the 2nd patch

So does this issue only occur in year 2010?

Why not. Once they win the series players want more money and other teams want your players. Possibly the owner didn't want to deal with that and fired the GM for doing too good a job.

In my fictinal world, the winning GM and the losing GM in the 1933 world series where both fired. The league has major money problems as every team is in the red. I want to see if the game can self fix the problem or if it will continue to downward spiral. This is what caused the problems, I started with a historical base (1930) and did a draft, I also have checked the import real finanials button. first year was good, everyone made money, then for 1931 attence got cut in half, and teams started losing money. 1933 like half the the GMs got fired including the two WS ones. Now in 1934 new media contracts have come out and they where cut in half. it's not looking like this league will get out of this problem soon.

That's one of my frustrations -- AI teams don't seem to know how to manage money ... there are so many variables at play, and things can get wacko in a hurry ...
