Rosters

Looks like everything is coming along very smoothly with me being able to release this set later on tonight, if not tonight first thing in the morning. I didn't realize I still had to upload the set and photo pack to my host took 2 1/2 hours last time. But I'll definitely keep anyone interested updated throughtout the night. This set includes:

1. Opening day major league and AAA rosters.
2. updated transactions as of the second I release the set.
3. All teams top 30 prospects. (*Note for the Double A rosters I only included in most cases somewhere between 10 and 20 players, the reason I did this was because the A ball rosters are fully loaded with the top prospects per team and if you hold your free agent draft mid-season like I do, I didn't want everyone to keep adding prospects on top of prospects. Plus when you promote these guys, they'll mainly go up to fill up your AA team)
4. For the mid-season draft I was able to create the top 40 high school and collegiate baseball players for this years upcoming amateur draft, players like Rickie Weeks (supposedly going #1 overall), Lastings Milledge, Delmon Young, Landon Powell, etc.)
5. Extensive photo set...this set will feature very close to 4000 photos for major and minor leaguers (the Tiger Fan/DB facepack) I am still gonna be hunting sites in search of finding all the photos currently not in the set.
6. players, players, players,. roughly somewhere over 3600 players.
7. Contracts. I used info from 2 different sites to find out contract lengths and dollar amounts for about 75% of all major leaguers in the set.
8. Thats roughly about it, set also has all coaches, scouts, parks, etc.

Sounds like there are competition on who can make the best roster sets now...lol GForce, DodgerBaseball, and I think Lahman I'm not sure...

But does GForce's rosters have: 7. Contracts. I used info from 2 different sites to find out contract lengths and dollar amounts for about 75% of all major leaguers in the set.

Or does it have a better percentage?

When this gets a release, I want to know how its like if the player ratings and everything are smooth and correct....

Competition is good. Drives innovation. Last year I seemed to be waiting and waiting for certain roster sets that never came out. Now, just in case that pattern starts to repeat, I have options.

And yes, I could just do it myself and work hard for awhile, but I am a lazy buttwipe. I am the scum of the earth.

RDizzle3, there's no competition here between myself and GForce, competition would be OOTP vs. Mogul. GForce and I are just two guys making rosters, it's like all the facepacks out here, just depends on which you prefer. Doesn't matter to me either way because I plan on running a career with the Pirates using his roster when it comes out and I'm sure he's gonna use mine as well.

As for an update, looks like it'll be out tomorrow, since I haven't heard from the person who's going to host the set and I need some much needed sleep tonight.

Sounds like a massive undertaking and let me say thanks in advance. When will the set be available or can you just email it directly to me.

Look forward to running some sims.

Best Regards,

Bill

I, for one, apologize. Options is a better word than competition. I'll be honest and say I hate to wait. Whichever stuff comes out first, I will grab like a chcocolate filled burrito. I've been ready to go for weeks and don't really care which pre-pubescents at single A are accurately rated. The computer AI will quickly negate all the "accuracy" as the seasons progress. I understand it is extremely tedious (hence my own laziness) and a personal endevour, but I can't help thinking this is like Picasso painting Guernica on a billboard that will be covered by a Burger King or KFC advertisement in a week's time. Week 3: "Mark Texeira's hitting talent drops to poor."

Thank you, though, for doing all this. I'm excited these will be out soon and I don't have to wait months only to have the rug yanked out from under me.

I agree that there isn't competition. Whichever people like, they like. I think we're handling a couple of things differently, which is good. I'm flattered that you say you will be using my rosters when they come out. However, and I truly mean no offense by this, I will be using my rosters as well when they are done. I just don't get why I would spend all this time getting TotalMinors as thorough and accurate as it is and then use someone else's work. I know my ratings and how they are developed, so it would make sense I would use my own stuff.

I think both creators of the sets have done a great job... and a great service for the entire ootp community....

That being said I know for myself, I get very bored very quickly with my leagues, so I am constantly creating new ones and I like the most up to date rosters each time I creat a league...

So to both of you, keep up the good work and the updates, because I'll play them both whichever is the most recent...

Again though, you both rock!!!
