Question for Owners...

How many files do you choose to create? Cause I chose players, teams, and coaches for every league, and everything else for just MLB, and i'm at 3 hours on uploading. It's almost done, but this is too much. What do you usually choose to upload?

Is this OOTP9? Also how many leagues/teams. I export players teams and news for my minors (only 1) and everything for my ML (24 teams). It usually only takes 5 -10 minutes. (I'm using OOTP2007).

Yeah, and I'm just doing a regular MLB League with 30 teams. It took me 3 1/2 hours to upload last night on my 1 1/2 year old laptop. It's not a slow computer, by any means, either. It has 1GB RAM. I don't know why it's going so slow, though. There were like 20000 files created which I thought was a bit much, but obviously you want all the player reports and the team reports. I don't know if i'm uploading too much, or what...

First, it's more your connection speed with the server rather than computer speed. A dial up connection would be a lot slower than a cable modem for example. DSL would be in the middle. But also the connection speed of the server would be important.

Also, was this your first load to the servers? I was referencing my sim times. I actually ziped the league up to the server and then uncompressed on the initial load. If this was the initial load, then, you updates won't be that long.

Do you have a lot of images?

When you say regular ML how many minors are included?

Well, I thought it was assumed I have broadband speed. But yeah, I have wireless high speed internet on my laptop.

It's all the minor leagues(AAA AA A Rookie league, etc)

I didn't upload any images.

It was the first upload, yes.

You can uncompress a zip file straight from the server? The complete size is like 63 MBs, but ther'es so many files so it takes so much time. That's the main reason...

I am assuming it is something the server host offers, certainly worth checking as it will speed up the process. My zip file was 50MB more or less the first time.

Since this was your first upload, then I wouldn't be concerned yet. The regular updates (e.g. each sim) are smaller. They are only sending changes and additions. I do have the sim send those compressed. The game will uncompress for those importing and I use the server extract to unzip the reports. So check out what your server provides.
