Importing real player for a league

Im starting a solo league. I want to start in 1997. How do i go about importing the Lahman database so i can have real players or is there another way to do this. Thanks

These two threads ought to do it. The first deals with historical teams, the second with individual historical players, all from the Lahman Database.
