Questions about Feeder leagues

Just a quick questions, has anyone figured out the best about of teams/league to create a realistic amount of players?

i'm testing right now

1st year in 2009 238 players available about 10-12 5 star potential

i have 2 college
and 4 High School league with 30teams each

do you think with these amount of feeders will the number reach 20 rounds of available players? 600 or should i add 2 more college league and 4 more HS league?

Also an other question, after players get drafted do the feeder leagues fill themselves up or do i need to fill the league at the end of the season?

Thanks for your help

Just got to the 1st draft of 1909

1-Pick 17ov got 0.5/4.0 SP
2-Pick 0.5/3.5 no SP above 1.0 potential (is there something i can do about this or is it AI just picks to many SP)

by the 3rd round only thing more than 2.0 potential are a few MR?

is to weak of a draft?

seems like last decent potential SP was picked early in the 2nd rd but the AI didn't go p crazy so i think i just need more prospects

wow big diff in 2nd year

2 Col
4 HS Leagues

1st year had about 230players

this year
814 batter 100with 5.0 potential
657 pitchers 32 with 5.0 potential about an other 25 with 4.5
total of 1471/30 have enough for 49 rounds, i was hoping for 30 at the most

Is to much talent? i realize not all 100 batters will reach their potential. that should give me about 5rounds of 4.5 and above. I could go down to 3 HS leagues.

But if this normal for created player potential, then if i create other leagues like Japan and Mexican, Korean will they sign undrafted players?

I will do one more test season to see if the number stabilize, i hope they don't go up anymore

stats

well i did some math

1471/180= to about 8players produced

What i liked about this draft is that you could get a descent player in the 5th round, and beyond right up to about 11th round where you could fine a descent prospect with 7/14/14. potential

if i go down to 1Col and 3 HS that would get me roughly 980 players if i go to 2 col and 3 HS this should give me 1225 players. with about 300players to much.

i had about 580 players not drafted. I might create some sort of other league.

2nd year

Will post Toronto draft

1-SP 0.5/5.0 13/16/16
2-SP .5/5.0 12/9/17
3-CF .5/5.0 11/16/17
4-SP .5/4.0 7/13/15
5-LF .5/5.0 13/15/14
6-CL .5/4.5 19/15/18
7-SS .5/5.0 13/14/13
8-SS .5/4.5 10/20/15
9-2B .5/4.5 14/17/10
10-CL .5/3.5 16/13/9
11-3B .5/4.0 10/14/14
12-CL .5/1.5 10/14/10
13-CF .5/2.5 11/17/10
14-RP .5/2.0 13/12/11
15-3B .5/3.5 15/14/2

aftter that all under 2.0 potential, i have been reading the aging/dev threat and i have adjusted mine to 1.200/.600 1.200/.500 for pitching

so with Dev, these young players will need good coaching. what do you guys think to much talent? if I keep it this way will need to creat add leagues to scoop some of these free agents. Any suggestions?

just noticed after a few months of simming there is only 80FA, none of the undrafted guys, do they get deleted then?

after reading the whole aging/dev threat report

i have totally adopted his settings

2.00
.500
1.75
.500

i think with these settings, it will take time for the prospects to peak, which in turn should make lots of guys not fulfill their potential

If you feel the draft is too top-heavy you can always just weaken one of the HS leagues.
