Game Crashed (For what reason?)

I just spent about 7 hours getting everything right about a Historical League based in 1980. I am using Major League rosters, and have all the teams down to Rookie Ball.

I added in player photos, team logos, jerseys, caps and ballparks.

To say I am pissed, is an understatement.

Is there anyway I can figure out what the problem is without restarting the whole process? I saved it as a template, but as soon as I go to sim a week, it crashes.

Please help.

Did you turn ghost players off? if so make sure all the leagues are filled.

The box next to "Allow incomplete minor league rosters" is unchecked.

so if its unchecked, are there incomplete minor league rosters? I know that's been a crash for a long time.

Is there a quick way to check that? Sorry, it has been awhile since I played OOTP.

Keep in mind that by having the real number of minor league teams for each major league club, you've got lots of roster spots to fill, far more than can be filled with a historical import which only includes major league players.

In this case you need to either fill the minors with fictional players (whom you can prevent from making the majors if you want) or you can use ghost players to round out the minors.

The quickest way to check if that's the problem is to click the "Fill all rosters with fictional players" button. (Not sure if that's the exact words, but you get the idea) Then see if it crashes. If it doesn't, then that was the problem. If you are stickler for detail about the minors rosters, you may want to backup the league first though.

EDIT: Whoops. Sorry. I did it again. My old fingers are just too slow. Disregard as LGO already addressed.

Just went through and did it for each league, from AAA to Rookie.

Still can't advance.

The 40-Man rosters are not filled, would that cause any problems? I really have no clue what the deal is. I have tried everything that I could have made a mistake on.

try this, create a new league with the template, fill minors with fictional, run computer manager on all teams and sim, if it still crashes, sim up to that date and game by game, and figure out what it is, I've seen the game crash when generating pictures for players, so maybe the face gen off if you have players who don't have photos.

I'd make sure that I had filled all teams with fictional players and then run the computer manager on all teams. Historically that has fixed all of the problems and errors of this type that I have ever had. But, who knows, maybe you've found a completely new way to screw a league up.

According to OOTP itself, OOTP MLB play (modern and historical) outnumbers OOTP fictional play three to one.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.

Update:

Somehow I was able to get it started under a different save name.

However, I now have run into a problem, where it says that Indianapolis does not have enough active players on the roster (0). This is my AAA team, so I know for a fact they have 25 players, and the limit for AAA is 25 that I have set. What gives? I have tried filling the roster with fictional players, running CPU management. Nothing is working.
