My Few Problems
I'm sure these have been mentioned before...just making sure they are mentioned here.
Inaugural Draft Issues- When creating a fictional league (in advanced mode) from scratch I started with a draft on Jan 1st. The first odditiy was the game did not create enough players to complete the draft. My league was a 30-team league and the draft was scheduled for 100 rounds. Should have been 3,000 players. There were approx. 1390-1400 players (enough to reach, but not finish 46 rounds). The second oddity was on Jan 3rd the game prompted me to go to the Inaugural draft a second time. There were no players in the pool, the teams logo and names were not in the their normal slots where you normally see the draft order for the current round. Trying to continue draft will cause the game to crash. I was able to release and schedule an inaugural draft via the functions in the League Setup, re-draft, and then move past Jan 3rd with no other oddities to date. I didn't change the league structure at all after creating the league. The only settings I did change after I started the league was to change the foreigner %. This was after the draft pool for the draft was created. Problems with opening reports via external browser - I haven't tried them all but currently I cannot open the Schedule Grid Report, the Schedule Evaluation Report, The Minor League System Report. I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium Admin Mode. Sound Issues - In pitch-by-pitch mode you will hear the "bat on ball" sound during the pre-pitch play by play on a pitch that is going to be fouled ball (which you then hear a second "bat on ball" sound). I just wanted actually post these here so that I knew they were in the Tech forum. |

The foul ball thing was previously logged as BZ 1465.

Will do. Default browser is IE 7. Most of my leagues I've created have been through importing OOTP 2007 leagues or quickstarts. Using that method I've NEVER had a double draft. The first time I tried to a fictional league from scratch in advanced mode....it did the double draft (1st & 3rd). I'll try another league of the same size and see if I can reproduce it. For some reason I think the second draft was a product of the fact the first draft couldn't complete as it was expecting due to not having enough players to complete the scheduled 100 rounds (only had enough for about 46+ rounds). |

I did a quick attempt to recreate...and it ran fine.
I know the problem was for some reason the game only created the default amount of players it would for a 30 team league with no minors (1380). In those cases it defaults to 45 rounds and 1380 players. In my situation, I did have 30 teams but I also had 3 levels of minors for another 90 teams. Granted I did allow ghost players but I do believe the game normally creates additional players above the 1380 for 30 teams if you add levels of minor league teams. For example, in my attempt to recreate the double draft using the same configuration and settings, the game created over 3600 players for 30 major league teams and 90 minor league teams. Now what I don't know yet...was it user triggered or game triggered. I don't remember doing anything odd creating this league...but I can't remember every step I took either....so I can't rule out the possibility its user triggered. Well...its 2:44 AM and the above probably doesn't make any sense....so I'll shut down till tomorrow. |

I created my first new league, added in all minor leagues and finished a total fantasy draft (650rds) where i drafted 140 of them before letting the computer finish.....I finished one day.....went to finish a 2nd day and the game tells me there is another inaugural draft?!? (150 rds) and then crashes.
![]() I am not one to whine about stuff but jeez, I just bought the game and its crashing already!!....actually crashed 2x during the draft but was able to pick it up where I left off.....whats the deal here

We've seen two inaugural draft's crash leagues before, there isn't a fix as far as I know. If you could try to elaborate on what you did when setting up the league it could help us figure out why the game scheduled two inaugural drafts.

Well, the one thing I know I did (which was a mistake) was select every league on the planet and every minor league system. There was very little chance I was going to be able to keep track of every one of my affiliates:-)
Other than that, didnt change too many settings other than adding DH to the National League. I did change all the team names to MLB names also. |

Did you edit any settings after the initial setup and clicking start game?

I will not swear to this but I dont think I did.......if there is one thing I may have done is, selecting that "add all minor leagues" button again because it wasnt apparent to me that they were included once I began......so maybe that screws it up?
If so, it would be nice if, once that button is selected, you cannot select it again. |

I tried to recreate it and I think it may have generated a second inaugural draft that was blank. I'll see if I can come back to this at some point.

Okay. Please let us know if you can narrow this down further. It would be nice to get this settled.

This has happened to me as well.....and while you can release players and schedule inuguaral draft and re-draft when you get stuck on the empty 2nd inuagural draft to get past that day...its not the best work around because...well...you have to redraft the draft your just spent time on.
I've been trying to recreate the double fantasy draft situation...but I haven't been able to. Last edited by HolyCow98; 06-26-2008 at 10:00 PM. |

Still no luck on recreating it. My gut feeling is it wasn't random....and it was something I did after clicking start game....but before I started the draft....however...every thing I've tried hasn't given me the same situation as of yet. I'll keep trying though.
Not sure it will help....but I still have the file of the league it did this with...however...I released and rescheduled the fantasy draft on the empty second fantasy draft on the third and have since reached Mid-May. You can see the draft log is jacked up but other than that....I'm not sure how much info you can extract from it. |

This issue has been claimed fixed for the upcoming patch. If after installing it you still experience this problem, please post a link to this thread in Tech Support along with an explanation of what happened so that we can re-open the report. Thanks!
