I run Mac OS X Version 10.4.11 on a 2 GHz Intel MacBook Pro. I am seeing several buggy behaviors with the new game. The one that I have been able to replicate several times is this:
Start a fictional league. Draft. Sim up to and through Spring Training. Generate batting data report - no problem. Ask game to generate the pitching stats report - it crashes every time. I'd like to be able to analyze the data so as to decide who to demote to AAA and who to keep. Help? |

Will the game crash when trying to generate the Pitching Stats report at other points in the season as well, specifically earlier ones?

pitching report crash
Indeed, it happens (ask for spring training pitching stats, game crashes) one week into Spring Training. Also, I have noticed that the batting report has an error in the title (something like "#error title bad")
Bonus random bug that showed up this time (no time previously): A message every 5-10 days from "A Torres" telling me I'd have to up my offer if I hoped to employ him as manager." Never heard of the guy. Don't need a new manager. Obviously, crashing bugs are much more important for now.... |

Will the game crash when viewing any other HTML-based report? Can you try out some of the other ones?

So I went ahead and started the season without running the pitching stats report in Spring Training. I successfully simmed the entire season, including playoffs without anymore crashes or bugs. I am now on the first day post playoffs. I can successfully create all the reports without crashing and I don't even see the titling error on the batting report anymore.
I'll sim through to Spring Training and let you know what happens then. (By the way, the previous instances of crashing were all triggered when clicking on the drop down menu under the reports tab reached from the team home page. Not from the links located on the manager home page. I never tried those while in Spring Training.) |

Well, I don't know if this is good news or bad...
But, I simmed back to Spring Training and sure enough the game is now crashing when I attempt to generate reports from both places - manager home page and the team home page. Now it seems to be all reports - (OK, I haven't tried all reports yet, but it is at least batting and pitching stats). Otherwise the game seemed to work well throughout off season. I made trades, resigned players, looked at historical data, voted for the award winners, etc. All that without crashing. I hope you can fix this. I really like to look at reports in Spring training so as to get the feel of position battles and not just go with whoever the scout gives the most stars to. |

This is an odd one. Can you please upload a zipped copy of your .dat files from your .lg saved game folder and FTP them to us and let us know the file name per the following instructions:
http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...-files-us.html Once you do, we'll log it for you. Thanks. |

Happened to me, too.
Mac OS-X leopard, MBP 2.33GHz, OOTP9 with the new patch. Tried a test sim to see if this happens to me. Fictional league, default setting. 1. Sim until the middle of the spring training 2. Open the pitching report from the team home page. 3. Set to the spring training, then the game crashes. I did the test sim twice, same result twice.

Strange...
This only happens on my MacBook Pro, not my old eMac with G4 processor. ![]() Is it a Intel Mac bug, or Leopard bug???

I tried to upload the zipped files accordingly to the instruction, but could not copy and paste my files to the saved games folder inside the FTP server.
Could you help me out?

Troubleshooting FTP isn't a strength of mine, but I can try. When you say that you couldn't copy your files to the saved game folder, can you describe exactly what you tried to do and what happened?

I use Mac, obviously. 1. I zipped up my file. 2. I went to the server by the link below. ftp://ootpsupport.com/incoming/ootp/saved_games/ 3. My computer connects to the server, and the folder named "saved games" pop out. (I did not have to press enter, or anything. Just got connected.) 4. I tried to copy and paste my zipped file to that folder, but could not paste it. 5. So, I tried to just drag my zipped file into the saved games folder(s), but it just will not go in.

Does your browser have any menu options that might let you upload files?
Maybe you could try downloading another program such as FileZilla (FileZilla - The free FTP solution) that might provide an easier interface. |

the case of the crashing Spring training reports
I have just uploaded my zipped .dat files from the crashing game. I placed them in the proper place following your directions (and yes I did have to download a ftp program (the one that's free for 15 days and $25 after that....)
Glad to see (I think) that I'm not the only one. I've successfully simmed into season three of this game (by not asking for reports in Spring Training) only to encounter a crash while trying to complete a trade. I have not played the game past that point. So these files would be from the most recent save before that time which was just after the amateur draft in Season Three. (which brings up another strange happening - or happenings. First of all, for some reason my Rookie League consistently has over 150 guys. At this point - right before amateur draft, it had 198. So I did the draft and then ten days later I get a message that I have people in the DFA category that need to be assigned. I guess the rookie league fills up at 200? Anyway, not knowing this, I simply dragged each player off the DFA roster and onto my rookie roster. Got no error messages, they disappeared off the DFA roster and on I went. Only to get the same message saying I have guys on the DFA roster and it won't advance the sim until I deal with them. But they are now missing from the DFA roster. They don't show up on any other team. So I decided to generate a draft log report to find out everyone I drafted (you think I draft twenty guys by hand?), used the search function at the top of the game window and was able to determine that each was assigned to the big league team even tho they weren't on the active or 40 man rosters. So from each player's page, I was able to demote them to short league or single A and once I did all those things the sim continued. So 1) where are all these extra guys coming from in my rookie league (90% of whom are MRs) and 2) why would the transactions interface allow me to drag them into oblivion like that?)
