Question on the ABA quick start...

There is no free agency and no arbitration and most of the players have 1 year contracts. Do they just automaticly renew those contracts? I'm sure I have missed something.

Also, wasn't there supposed to be a quick start historical league in the game begining in 1959 with 10 years of history or did I just imagine that?

FA needs to be turned on manually in the middle of the 1970's, or, at any time you want to. The contracts will look funny to the modern eye until you do. Also, you can expand the league when you want to, and relocate teams too.

ABA shipped with no history, set in 1951. There's a long list of reasons. I won't go into them now.

The 10 year version has been sent to the modders. Here is a link:

It is in 7 zip format. Here is a link to 7zip.

7-Zip

Anyone that wants to host the ABA file may do so.

I'm a little confused as well. Do they all automatically renew? How does their contract value get determined? Can anyone shed some light on this? Mr. Goo, maybe?

It's OOTP's version of the reserve clause. The contracts get renewed, and the amount is the basic financial adjustment.
