Adjusting League Batting and Pitching Strategies

I was wondering if any experienced users could give me some imput on this. I would like to be able to downgrade my league batting averages and pitcher ERA's. I'm assuming that I would use the League strategy section in the league options menu to do this. I have a few questions about the procedure.

1 - In order to adjust league totals I would use the league totals/modifiers section correct?

2 - To what degree would changes in the modifiers change totals in the game? EXAMPLE: My league batting average is averaging .270 over the last few years and I want to drop that 10 points to .260. My league pitcher ERA is about 4.50 and I would like to drop that down about 10 points as well. What should I adjust and by how much in order to do this? (Hits and/or BABIP?)

3 - Will adjusting hitting downwards produce an automatic decrease in pitcher ERA?

4 - The "traditional OOTP player creation modifiers" section only concerns new players that are introduced in amature drafts (or randomly generated free agents) correct? If I wanted to have a different "flavor" for every draft class, I could adjust these settings on a yearly basis correct? For example, if I wanted to have a draft class that was strong in pitching and defence, I could set pitching stuff, movement, control and fielding ratings high (say 1.150), and set batting contact, power and gap power lower (say .850). Does this sound about right?

Thx for any and all replies and have a good day

I can probably only help you out on your fourth question, the answer to which would be Yes. It might be risky to change that every season though, as the league would probably be trying to still get the .850 generated hitters to hit at a 1.000 level (or whatever you have the totals/modifiers set to).
