possible scouting option for patch 2??
I'm readling a lot re. scouting on / off again w/ this version. I think it's fine that some like it and some don't. But....the scout off option to me is a turnoff, as it basically uses real ratings.
I think a prior version had a "set all scouts to average" selection. Would it be possible to add a 3rd option to scouting....On, Off, or set all scouts to X? I'm hoping that this is simply math, since I'm guessing that with scouting on the ratings are likely set in a bell curve that widens with poor scouts and gets tighter with good scouts. If this is the case, it would be really cool to have a "set all scouts to good, avg, or bad". this would allow those who like some scouting variability but dislike the current system to set to one of these settings. I think that i will get the answer that this can be done within the game today by editing the avg $$ spent on scouting. but, based on some of what I'm reading, I'm not certain this is really the same thing. |

Chris.....I think it's a good idea, as all your ideas are. Once people come up for air, you may get other thoughts.

This is a good idea. It would be a good compromise between the stark reality of scouting off versus the insecurity of scouting on. This way, you would get the scouting experience without having to worry about the quality of the one you have and still have some variability and inaccuracy in scouting reports to keep things interesting. Oh, I'm sorry, did I butt into your conversation with Chris, Chris?

It should be noted that we are still waiting to hear/figure out if the AI actually uses scouted ratings in making its decisions, or just uses a players real ratings. If it does not, having an option to set all scouts to average will actually just set your scouts to average and not affect the AI's decision making. There is some evidence out there that suggests the AI might "see through" scouted ratings.
Of course, in online leagues, this option would still make lots of sense if you wanted everyone to be on equal footing..... |

Guys....thanks. I'm confused about this too. I feel like as long as we can conclude that the AI GM's can't see thru scouted ratings, then just coming up w/ the right $$ to spend on scouting may be perfect. It still allows individual teams to spend their $$ where they want, or based on scout's talents, etc. I know i'm over simplifying, but it would be really cool to know that if I set avg scout budget to $15M, lets say, it's the equivelent of 80% accuracy. I'd be very happy to know that and play w/ that number, as long as I know i don't hvae an unfair advantage, or that the AI does not
if the AI sees right thru scouting, then I think the only choice is to play w/ scouts off or use a very high budget. |
