About a week ago, I began work on a program that would generate faces for my fictional league. My goals were:
- To be able to create a myriad of faces from different, user-selectable "spare parts" including eyes, noses, mouths, facial hair, etc. - To be able to control the coloration of each of those parts globally and programmatically rather than find a blue hat bitmap to go with my blue uniform bitmap. - To be able to autogenerate one or one hundred random faces and not have them look awkward - To give myself (and others) the ability to add faces and face "parts" in the future similar to how OOTP allows for the creation of user-defined skins. To make that process simple and easy and allow for tremendous flexibility. I asked around earlier this week to see if something like this would interest anyone. What I received were generally positive responses, but not the number of responses I had hoped for. I think, though, that I might not have explained my vision very well. I tend not to do that too well. You know what they say, though. A picture tells a thousand words. The project is almost complete, and I will begin alpha testing it next week. The results I've been able to achieve using the program have been more than acceptable. I will most likely put a call out for a small number of beta testers the week after. I have a tendancy to draw rather cartoonish-type characters. This is reflected in the example screens below. But please keep in mind that you're not limited to this face. You can create your own faces and face parts, use my faces and face parts and hopefully someday download others' faces and face parts. I plan to release the program as "donationware". This means that if you like the program, use the program and [hopefully] abuse the program ( ), you'll throw me a little something for my time and web hosting needs. If there is a huge interest in this program, I'll keep everyone informed regularly. If not, I'll just release the most major announcements. Screenshots appear below.

VERY cool utility, indeed! If you need any help getting this thing off the ground, just lemme know. I'd be more than willing to abuse the hell out of it during an alpha or beta test period.

I'm sure this is WAY earlier, but might as well ask
![]() Is it possible to have a way to query for all faces associated with a team? This way we would be able to batch update the uniform color, hat color, and that sort of thing.

To be honest, I haven't thought that far ahead yet. Once the .bmp is exported, it is basically uneditable again (except as a flat .bmp), as the program flattens all layers upon export. However, you can (batch) generate x random players, pre-assign the colors and have only the facial attributes change. You could therefore create a team with all players having the same uniform colors but each having different facial features and skin tones. Hope that helps. I'm cleaning up some of the code and fixing some interface issues and will have some new screenshots within the next couple of days.

Thanks, Henry. As someone who enjoys your work, I really value your opinion. And your graphic abilities could come in handy
