Importing from 2007 to 9?

Here's my dillema: I liked the Fictional Universe in a Box from OOTP 9. It included logos, ballcaps, jerseys etc. for all of the teams. I'd like to use this in OOTP9. My two options are to either go through and change all the team names manually and restart the league (and hope everything works with the colors/logos), or to create the league in OOTP8, and import it into OOTP9 before the inaugural draft manually. I'm not too sure how well OOTP9 imports OOTP8 players though. It would suck to start out on the wrong foot so to speak.

Suggestions?

in the testing i did, all of the player ratings converted over exactly. the only difference is how the AI evaluates those ratings, since the pitcher endurance was tweaked.
