Improper Player Expense Charges
Let's see if I can explain this adequately.
I am running OOTP 8 latest patch on my desktop. I am running OOTP7 latest patch on my notebook. Both systems run completely current version of Windows XP. The same thing happens on both machines. I should also say that I play only in on-line leagues. The major league regular season (162 games) is complete. The World Series is taking place. The minor league (AAA) season (140 games) is complete and the playoffs are complete.. I can release players (as expected) from the major league team in their last contact year with no unexpected financial results. BUT if I release a player from the minor league AAA team who happens to have a major league contract (also in its last year), for some unexplained reason I get charged with additional player expenses. The additional charge is exactly 22 games worth of his major league salary. Obviously it is somehow related to the 22-game difference in the two schedules even though both seasons are over. I see the additional charge on the financial screen immediately after I release the player. So, I tried this: elevate the player to the major leagues and then release him. Lo and behold, no unexpected player expenses after the release. So then I export the changes to the on-line league server using the usual export method. Once the export has been imported into the game and I download the new league file, the 22-game charge shows up again in my team's financial report. All very annoying (while not changing my opinion that this is the greatest game ever invented!) Last edited by kcroyalgm; 06-02-2008 at 05:37 PM. |
