Actually, since Arguello has scored 6 points, he should be on the bottom of the list - I forgot him.

I was going to speak up for an All-Connecticut division (or at least 3/4ths of one) . . after seeing 1-2-3 on that list, am glad I kept quiet!!

We do have an all-Connecticut division. It's called the playoffs.

If there is no interest in trading of fighters between the teams.........which I don't think there will be, I'll make plans to start week 2 either tonight or tomorrow. I need to make sure Romultiltus is ready to go before I do.
For the new guys and some of the old that may have forgotten, the waiver wire process will become a weekly habit starting at the mid-point of this season. This usually takes 3 to 4 days to complete. So there will be a 3 to 4 day lag in between game weeks. |

BINK GAZETTE May 28, 2008
The Baltimore Binks opened their season at home against the vaunted Bonner Springs Bald Beavers. Buoyed by the promotional giveaway of Support your Favorite Jock, the Rock, bobbleheads of team captain Hasim “the Rock” Rahman were given to the first 5,000 fans. The Civic Center was filled near to capacity, as there was a good influx of Beaver fans that had made the trip to witness this inaugural Binks match. The fans were not disappointed, as the Binks fell behind early, but made a spirited comeback! Both teams went 15-15-2, so the victory was determined by the number of hierarchical points. The Beavers topped the Binks in KOs, 6-5, and in TKOs/UDs, 9-8, hence the final score was Beavers 49, Binks 47.5. Mikehoudini and Mack Lewis were pleased by the team’s showing against this perennial power, but did lament the shenanigans that may have contributed to the Binks’ demise. Somehow, our hometown ring card girl, Amina Sade, was locked in her dressing room, and was replaced by Vicky Pollard, a face that could launch 1,000 ships in their attempt to get as far away from her as possible at top speed! Amina escaped at half-time and her presence sparked the Bink rally! In fairness to the Bald Beavers, they also had to watch the magnificence that is Vicky Pollard. There were heroes and disappointments for the Binks. Middleweight Max Resch sparkled in his debut, winning a decision over George LaBlanche and then stopping Alan Minter in 8 on cuts, both Beavers rated higher than Max. He was declared co-fighter of the night for the Binks for his unexpectedly strong performance! Alas, highly-touted Henry Hank was a disappointment as the other middleweight, dropping unanimous decisions to both Beavers. The Rock said he’d want to watch a replay of the fight via the bout logs to see if justice was served! Buzzsaw Yamabe and the Rock both went 2-0, and the Rock feels he deserved better than a majority decision against the heralded heavyweight Ike Ibeabuchi. We’ll have to review the logs. The light-heavy duo of Melio Bettina and Oakland Billy Smith dropped 3 of 4 to boxers lower rated than themselves, and each loss was because of cuts. Was there something in George Nichols’ gloves? The Binks will be reviewing the logs to see who was leading at the time of the stoppages. Young Corbett II was also a major disappointment, as he was KOd by both featherweight opponents. His performance may have been the reason for the close loss, but the Beaver feathers, most notably Celestino Caballero, may have been the real reason for the knockouts. Again, the Binks will be reviewing the logs to see how Corbett was faring prior to being knocked out! A final mention must be made of the co-fighter of the night, Chokchai Chockvivat! Chocky knocked Midget Wolgast out in the 10th round, a major upset, and went toe to toe with highly-regarded flyweight Vic Darchinyan, getting a draw! So that summarizes the opening match for the Binks. This week, they’ll host the Saint Louis Sluggers, who were victorious against their first match opponent, the Coventry Hitmen, by a score of 57-45.5. The other teams in the Cribb Division, Bears Unstable and the Diggstown Ringers, also won, so our Binks are in last place, at least temporarily. Again, the difference between scrappy and crappy is just one letter, and the Binks show good promise! Come out and watch them this week! Newsflash: The Chilton Roughnecks, the league patsy for the last few years, opened with a big win, getting a major monkey off their backs! Can the Binks’ first win be far behind? |

I second that Mike. Also, the cat you use as your avatar is a dead ringer for one of my beloved pets. She is no longer around but that pic could be her...amazing how much they resemble each other. If I can find an old pick(ex-wife has most)I will post it..you will be shocked. Anyway, great write up on the Binks first week good stuff! I may follow suit later. Peace.

That sounds like a great idea. Some hookers and blow sound like a great way to relax.
I'm in the process of getting the bout logs uploaded. They should be done in the next 10 or so minutes.
