I hope it is actually. The features mentioned in the trailer on YouTube sound cool, and while I will always love CM/FM, the fact is they're pretty colored spreadsheets. There's nothing wrong with a slick interface if the underlying mechanics are good.

I look forward to finding out. There was stuff I noticed in the trailer that wasn't hyped that intrigued me as well.

I really dislike EA, but this time they seem to have gotten it right.

My only major gripe with the Fifa Manager series is you can't continue a game from the previous version to the newer version. I'll have to start my game all over again from stratch when FIFA Manager 09 comes out in a few months.
