Rookie Eligible?
How many at bats can a player have before he is no longer a rookie? I ask because in my 1995 league, Troy O'leary had 399 at bats in 1994, but they are calling him a rookie in 1995. Thanks

I believe it is 150 AB's for a positional player or 75 innings for pitchers or if the player has been on the major league roster for more than 45 days. I'm pretty confident on the first two, but not sure on the 45 days.

How is a player determined a rookie? A player shall be considered a rookie unless, during a previous season or seasons, he has (a) exceeded 130 at-bats or 50 innings pitched in the Major Leagues; or (b) accumulated more than 45 days on the active roster of a Major League club or clubs during the period of 25-player limit (excluding time in the military service and time on the disabled list). |
