Crashing Problem

I have ootp version 8.0.0.13. I have played about a half a season. A few times in the two months or so I have owned the game I would get an error message that crashed the game. Usually when I would go to a player's html report. I would reboot computer and game and keep playing. Yesterday I got the same message. Started up the game again and can get to my manager home page. But anything I clicked to open immediately crashes the games. I also have noticed that when loading, it takes a long time from the point it says 100% Finalizing to when the game screen comes on. Hopefully there is a solution other than loading the backup file because, well, I didn't make a backup file.

System is Windows XP.

Besides this problem, the game is great!

Are you playing in the MLB Quickstart, or in a user-created fictional league?
